What is Salik?

Salik, meaning "open" or "clear" in Arabic, is Dubai's automated road toll system. Unlike traditional toll booths, Salik operates without barriers, allowing you to drive freely without stopping.

The system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. A small sticker tag on your windshield is scanned automatically each time you pass beneath a gate, deducting the fee from your prepaid account instantly.

  • Free-flowing traffic — no barriers, no queues
  • Automatic deduction from your prepaid balance
  • Mandatory for all vehicles passing through any gate
  • Managed by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)
